Bar at Four Seasons Resort in Santa Barbara, CA
BILTMORE TY LOUNGE
AB design studio, Inc. led the architectural and interior design transformation of the iconic Ty Warner Lounge at the Four Seasons Biltmore Santa Barbara, creating a space that harmonizes timeless elegance with modern sophistication. The remodel enhances the guest experience through a thoughtful blend of architectural detailing, custom furnishings, and atmospheric lighting.
The design introduces a striking new bar concept, showcased in detailed architectural elevations and renderings. The centerpiece is an illuminated arched liquor display framed by honey-colored quartz and intricate patterned shelving, creating a warm focal point that elevates the lounge’s visual identity. Vaulted wood-beam ceilings and terracotta walls maintain the Spanish Colonial character, while custom chandeliers with cascading red glass pendants add drama and vibrancy to the space.
Seating arrangements were reimagined for comfort and social interaction. Plush upholstered chairs and custom banquettes complement handcrafted tables, while the layout supports both intimate gatherings and lively evenings. Architectural sketches reveal the integration of ornate wrought-iron detailing at the outdoor bar and terrace, reinforcing the connection between indoor and ocean-view spaces. Candlelit tables and arched glass doors frame views of the Pacific, offering guests a seamless transition to the coastal ambiance.
Lighting plays a pivotal role in redesigning. From the glowing Italian onyx accents to layered illumination across the bar and dining areas, every element was curated to create a sultry, inviting atmosphere. The remodel also incorporates subtle wall refinishing and updated flooring patterns, adding depth and texture without compromising the lounge’s historic charm. This renovation reflects AB design studio’s commitment to hospitality design that balances luxury, functionality, and cultural context. The Ty Warner Lounge now stands as a premier destination for tapas, classic cocktails, and local wines—an architectural expression of Santa Barbara’s elegance and vibrancy.
