As a Project Manager in our studio, you will leverage your 10+ years of experience in project management, as well as your interpersonal skills to deliver exceptional projects on time and on budget. At AB design studio you will join a highly creative, collaborative team dedicated to innovation, problem solving and design excellence.

What You Will Do: Manage one or more projects. Provide leadership to the team and client; communicate clear project objectives, contract scope, terms, and schedule. Manage the entire project lifecycle: estimating, project kick-off thru project closeout. Develop-monitor the project work plan, project schedule, fees and collections. Resolve complex technical/design issues to produce innovative technical/constructible solutions. Direct production of drawings & CA, assist client bid projects. Manage and track financial performance of projects. Oversee quality control and ensure compliance within project scope.

Qualifications: 10+ years of relevant experience as a project manager. Degree in Architecture or related field from an accredited program Strong knowledge and experience in the preparation of a comprehensive set of contract documents, building codes and standards. Excellent communication, organization, leadership, people management skills with self-confidence. Proficiency with Word, Excel, ArchiCAD BIM and BIM/Revit. Familiarity with industry related contracts and scheduling and materials, methods and processes of construction. Highly organized and responsive. Excellent planning, time management and organizational skill.

AB design studio is a leading architecture, interior design and planning firm with offices in Santa Barbara and Los Angeles. Given our planned growth and success we are seeking to identify Project Architects for our Santa Barbara and Los Angeles offices. 

Responsibilities: Responsible for ensuring the overall design intent of the project is incorporated into the detailed documentation. Monitors the design process from conceptual phase through construction administration, ensuring the design idea is consistent and properly executed. Responsible for technical resolution and coordination, sets the overall strategy for producing the documents. Defining how data will be organized into files and which elements will be incorporated in a Building Information Model (BIM). Sets up project team software parameters and manages standards. Communications with other disciplines and ensure incorporation of all information into project requirements.

Teamwork: Coordinates shared electronic documentation and files with project team. Assists in planning and conducting work-making modifications to complete working drawing set(s). Coordinate approvals with municipal building department and other governing agency. On-site visits, field reviews and project meetings. Review of contractor’s schedules, submission of shop drawings. Project set-up, drawing coordination and use of AB standards. 

Required Skills: Strong knowledge of construction methodology, material application and advanced knowledge of architectural building systems. Thorough knowledge of ArchiCAD and other (BIM). Advanced knowledge of QA/QC process. Advanced knowledge of building codes. Possess advanced CAD drafting skills, AutoCAD/Architectural Desktop preferred. ArchiCAD and BIM Revit required.

Required Experience: Licensed Architect with current registration

As an Architectural Technical Draftsperson in our studio, you will leverage your 5+ years of experience in preparing exceptional Contract Documents, as well as your interpersonal skills to be a part of a competent project team. At AB design studio you will join a highly creative, collaborative team dedicated to innovation, problem solving and design excellence.

Responsibilities: Responsible for supporting project team, the development of project documents in all phases. Assist in architectural problem solving. Interact with consultants and other project team members. Demonstrate CAD competency in drawings set up for any type of project, management and use of all CAD files and resolution of any related CAD issues. Communicate effectively and professionally. Coordinate projects with team members and consultants for conflicts and discrepancies. Ability to apprise PM & PA of the status of work.

Documentation: Be proficient in documentation, procedures, standards, templates and protocols. Set goals, prioritize and plan work activities. Assist in preparation of work plans, schedules and budgets. Proficient level knowledge of drawing setup, layers, plotting/publishing, dimensions, blocks, attributes, purge/audit/recover, and back up files and viewports. Prepare complex plans, elevations, and details under guidance of supervisor. Review submittals, shop drawings, respond to RFI's.

Experience: Minimum of five (5) years experience in production and coordination of documents in all phases of architectural practice desired.
