Santa Barbara's First Organic Creamery

Two years ago Rori Trovato began Rori’s Artisanal Creamery and this month the successful (and delicious) ice cream brand found a permanent residence in Montecito. The 300 square-foot shop may be small, but it is overflowing with flavor. Noozhawk recently published an article about the space, creatively designed by AB design studio’s Karmen Aurell, Clay Aurell, and Josh Blumer, praising the Creamery’s “closet refurbished to look like a refrigerator” and “classic ice cream parlor” feel.  Although the feel is “classic” the space is cleanly modern. The cash register exemplifies this as it is a mix between a refurbished wooden cash box that has been reconfigured to fit an iPad.

This is such a wonderful space. Karmen Aurell did a fabulous job at making the most out of this small space. If you haven't been, then go get a mini scoop and try the various flavors. remember to ask for the specials. This is a great example of how to design a small space with big impact.

AB design studio's interior design team, led by Karmen Aurell and the purveyor (Rori) should take the credit for making a high design statement work for the masses.
